Before we launched, we ran the IRB-approved Juno Study. Over 1,000 women across the US registered to take part, allowing us to build a rich repository that formed the basis of our work today.
Sequencing outperforms culture
Traditional culture methods can only detect organisms that grow in lab conditions, missing anaerobic bacteria, rare species, and mixed infections. Next-generation sequencing detects DNA directly from the sample, capturing the complete microbial picture irrespective of culturability.

We handle test requisitioning for you. So you don't need to worry about finding a physician to order this test for you.
Sample Quality Check
Your sample arrives at our CLIA-certified facility and is logged, coded, and assessed for quality before processing begins. Samples that don't meet quality thresholds are flagged and you're contacted directly.
Extraction
We extract the microbial genetic material from every bacteria and yeast present in your sample using protocols optimised specifically for vaginal microbiome analysis.
Next Generation Sequencing
Your extracted microbial genetic material is sequenced using advanced molecular technology that identifies 10,000+ species. Unlike standard tests that only look for what they're programmed to find, sequencing detects everything present, including rare microbes and those associated with mixed infections.
Bioinformatic Analysis
Raw sequencing data is processed through our proprietary bioinformatic pipeline, built specifically for vaginal microbiome interpretation, using curated reference databases that reflect the latest clinical and scientific research.
